Men's Indoor National Squad

October 6, 2008 - USA Field Hockey today announced the selections for USA Men’s Indoor National Team training trip to Hannover, Germany, from November 5-10, 2008.

The USA will take the opportunity to train and compete against some of Europe’s top club sides, including Scotland’s Menzieshill (4th in 2008 European championship) and several first division German club sides, including games at the HCH Tournament, considered Germany’s top pre-season tournament. The Germans have dominated men’s indoor hockey for over thirty years and their league is universally acknowledged to be the strongest in the world. Many feel that the top ten German club sides could beat all other countries.

The training tour to Germany is made in preparation for the Pan Am Indoor Cup, to be held in San Juan, Argentina from November 19-23,

USA Field Hockey announced the full selections for the 2008 Men's Indoor National Squad in September. The team is coached by Peter Jones.

The full squad includes a blend of youth and experience, with several members of the USA Indoor World Cup team from 2003 returning, together with players who have made their international indoor debut since that time. In addition, seven players are getting their first selection to the USA Indoor National Squad.

Several squad members will be selected for a training tour to Hanover, Germany from November 5-10.
